Prestige 24 - Demonic Double Dozen

The reward for this prestige is a whole bunch of Marks of Honour. Well, that may be a lame reward but the next reward is pretty awesome! I'm looking forward to the mount (which is a great skin by the way and will so go with my outfit!) and the reward after that is the title! Another 2 weeks to grind out the next prestige I guess!

Is this the last one? Bought these with Essences today. I wonder if the next legendary is the alt one! Threw this one into the collection and I am eagerly awaiting the next one... whatever class it is, I will level that next! I solemnly swear! :D

Friday Fail - So I somehow never noticed this in last few months...

This week's Friday Fail is proudly brought to you by me being unobservant.

I was doing one of the Broken Shore dailies - the one where you have to dig up mounds of dirt looking for a coin. I noticed that you get a buff after you get a coin, and it leaves a rainbow trail.

I'm not very good with taking pictures of the trail, so I have a few shorts of me flying into mobs and the mobs trailing me are obscuring the trail. At least this one I went straight up so you can see the rainbow!

I told HK about the cool rainbow, all excited. He made that sound, a sigh really, that seemed to convey the "are you serious you didn't know that" message...

"That's been around for ages. How have you not noticed?"

Well. We all know the answer to that question.

Raiding - Timewalking Ulduar

I can't say I am thrilled to do anything Timewalking, but people seemed eager to do it, so since we're not doing much on Thursdays (the mythic thing is not happening) then we decided to go and do it on Thursday.

And Sunday.

I totally forgot that Ulduar is a LOOOONG instance.

Fortunately, it wasn't as dreadful as some timewalking raids have been. Molten core... ugh. But as a flex group and as a guild, it wasn't that bad, and everyone decided to bring their leather wearers along to gear up as the stuff that dropped was 930/945TF.

Which, by the way, is TERRIBLE when you wanna collect appearances!

It needed a bit (maybe a lot) of memory jolting to remember how fights work. I had to tank on Sunday because Ram was not on, much to HK's chagrin.

And, HK pointed out something I had never noticed. In second phase of Mimiron, he's actually in a can and there is a giant can opener.

Picture taken from someone else's imgur, but you get the gist of it. Wish I'd noticed that!

Coffee was tired and forgot and ran straight into Yogg's room. Oops. Yeah, it doesn't reset. But the fight seemed a bit different from what I remember because the portals opened really fast for Yogg, and then Yogg got a bit "frozen" - which turned out to be because we hadn't killed all the tentacles and people were still inside or something - and then it was dead. I did die and need a rez because it still hurts at level!

So that was Ulduar. I think Sev got one fragment of Val'anyr after all that!

Raiding - First week with alts in heroic

Last week we cleared in one night, so that meant this week alts are allowed in raid. I wrote that we should only have alts for first 6 bosses, but we ended up having them for first 8 and some for Coven as well (half of them anyway) but mains were all back for Aggramar and Argus.

We only got Aggramar done, and we did Argus on Thursday.

It was also our first week carrying one person for the mount. We took Delanoben this week, and it was fine. I did have a slip of the tongue when he died on Argus and I said something along the lines of "Oh that's good" where everyone was yowling in horror at my dreadful insult to Delanoben. I did apologise but he was ok - he was lagging super badly anyway!

Lots of legendaries went out, which was good for everyone's alts. But still no legendary from Argus for anyone!

We did try to be as efficient as possible, heading to the next boss straight away whilst I looted stuff, but we still screwed up a bit on Aggramar and Coven.

HK wasn't feeling well so he logged off but Ultra logged to Tammy to tank and Ram tanked for the last few bosses. I had a cc target on Aggramar but Ram did it (automatically) and forgot he had to tank the big add and that didn't turn out so well. No wonder HK doesn't cc when he's tanking - too busy!

Overall, I think it went well, and we got through what we wanted to. One person carried a week seems nice and easy. Even Neuro came! It was surprising how many people forgot who Neuro was (and not to mention he was looting all the Vanq stuff, but Vanq tier peeps are not hissy like the Prot and Conq tier peeps). It was difficult explaining to him that we don't take non guildies to raid - guildies just don't get that! I keep saying it has to be in guild, because once I let someone in on their alt on another server then I'll be flooded with people from other servers coming and it has to be fair to everyone!

Delanoben was pleased with his mount. He thought it was very pretty!

Got carried by Spoon's guild for a Gul'dan mythic kill earlier this evening. I did a boo boo and killed the raid by not running into melee to deal with parasites, but I didn't make the same mistake twice. I did however die at the end which you can see in this picture. I'm so helpful.

Thanks for the carry, Endless Fury!

So I spent my essences and I got a shaman legendary!

So guess what that means!

Yep, I'm levelling a shaman! Say hi to Navigate!

I was trying to pick a "Navi" name and Navigate was the funniest one, since it's a bit of a misnomer. Since when can I navigate anything? I'm always lost...!

So I did a whole ONE LEVEL before I got sleepy. So how long is it going to take me to level up? Let's take bets to see if I can max before expac comes! Betcha any money I won't even be 60 yet.. :D

Fail Friday - Sometimes EoA is hard... and the BG weekly

$

On Monday night we were doing an EoA just for people to get their 15 done, and boy were we being dumb on the first boss. Sometimes you get days like that. You get hit by the spear coz you're slow to run behind the add. The boss does his charge and you go splat. Both adds die and you have nobody to hide behind. Or you don't kill the adds fast enough and they start healing the boss. Or aggroing onto your healer. Or you just ran into the sand and died.

It was lots of that.

We were about to throw it in (and I was shocked that we were going to) because it wasn't even a Tyrannical week, but as usual, when you say it's your last go, you get it.

The rest of the instance wasn't so bad. Except that we decided to practice jumping up the boat and wasting more time. Didn't matter anyway, since we were already out of time. Because, with 2 druids and a DH, it should be easy!

Though I've figured out the trick to jumping up (which is to stand on the corner, jump up whilst standing still then leaping forward with Wild Charge in stag form) I am still not 100% successful with it. I really need to practice more. But when you're under time pressure in a M+, probably not the best time to practice.

I don't know why sometimes EoA is so hard when it's so easy! I decided to blame HK because he wasn't on his monk so he couldn't paralyze properly...

Interestingly, my M+ key didn't go down this week to one level below what I did the previous week, it went down on my high key that I still had not done in my bag. It's been ticking down slowly since I did that 24 VoW a few weeks ago, and this week I had a 21 VoW which I didn't do.

So how was your week? Less fail than mine I hope!

This one came from a rare kill on Argus (Many-faced Devourer). I didn't recognise it at first, though HK was laughing at me, wondering what I would do with it...

Yeah, well. That's gonna just sit in the bank for a bit.

So what should I do with my Wakening Essences now? No point in getting more legendaries - I'm not levelling anything else! Maybe I'll just go around upgrading all my old ones.

Achievement - Master of Battle for Gilneas

Crooked has inspired me to work on PvP achievements, as he has been selectively queueing Isle of Conquest to finish off his 100 wins. I've tagged along and got a win or two, but I hadn't been chasing achieves, not really. Now he's inspired me to.

Tonight nothing was happening, so when he logged on (I'd just finished doing a BG and a brawl, and fortunately won both - thanks Coffee, Spanky and Sev! More on that on Friday) we queued up for a BG. IOC doesn't proc at night for some reason, but I'd been queuing Deepwind Gorge and then I said hey let's queue a Gilneas.

So we did.

The game actually started really well. We were winning. Then for some reason, people started leaving. Crooked and I started out at Waterworks and we wiped them there and got our 10 kills, so we went back to mines. I was heals so I was hanging around Crooked to make sure we got our kills together. Probably worked better since I was heals.

Mines had a rush so we wiped them, but didn't make 10. Then we lost waterworks. Crooked said, well no point going back there, let's go to lighthouse. So we did. We went with another shaman and managed to take it but only got a few kills. We capped it and waited, and fortunately, alliance came to try to take it back, and everyone came to back  us up. We made our 10 kills and so he and I decided to go back to mines.

Crooked said in the BG to let them come to mines so we could get our achievement. I cringed inwardly because that usually means we're NOT going to get it as people sabotage it, but we lost another player and we lost LH so we were down 2-1. Then alliance started coming and we were killing them those the melee were wailing on me big time and Crooked saved me and kept me up just enough so we could get our last kills.... and then BAM!

Woo! Gilneas Assassin got me my Master of Gilneas too. So that was pretty exciting. He and I cheered, and.. we lost the game, by chasing our achievement.

Sev and Shab would have been yelling at us, but it was totally worth it. Been so long trying to get that achieve. Spanky and Coffee totally agreed! Grats us!

Wewt, I made it! Got the last points during a BG which we were dominating, so that was good! I really wanted the black and red pony, in my opinion it is the best one. Even better than the Lucid Nightmare!

Is this the end? I'm not sure! I can still earn honour, but there doesn't SEEM to be anymore prestige levels. I'll just keep doing them anyway - to get ready JUST in case there are more!

Fail Friday - Dragging Hwired around to mythic plus

$

Hwired said the other week, "I want to do a 20+ key." I said "Sure, what key do you have?"

To which he replied, "None."

So I asked him, where are we going to get this key from? And he said we can work one up.

Well, it's not easy to just work up a key! You have to be dedicated, and be a little bit carried. I get carried all the time!

Fortunately I still had my slowly declining key from weeks ago when I did my 24 VoW, so we had a 21 to do. It was 21 DHT and we did that on the Saturday and we were obviously going to be over but it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. At least we finished it. Yes, it took just over an hour, but there are worse things we've done.

This week my key turned into a 20 DHT. But, it's tyrannical and raging week, so not as nice a week as last week, which was fortified/quaking/bursting. So I was predicting that Xavius would be particularly ugly, and that tree dude could also be rather painful on the tank.

I wasn't wrong.

We dragged poor Hwired along with us again and the poor guy didn't have a Prydaz. I don't know if that would save him, but he died A LOT. He did whinge that it was so much harder than last week, but tyrannical makes the bosses that much uglier. We spent a whopping 1.5 hours in DHT and by the end it of HK was ready to kill everyone. I'm always lame at the feed on the weak thing, and it takes me a while to get all my hots laid especially if I get silenced far from the others and am running around trying to get someone so I can top myself up.

Eventually we got it done, and that was that. Poor Lushen. Dragged him along to that 20 key as well as the 21 key the week before. This week however, instead of Amelior we had a paladin friend of mine from work.

Anyway, Spoon was laughing at me and sending commiserations to Lushen. Thank goodness I "accidentally" left guild repairs on.

Raiding - First four boss acheivements in Antorus the Burning Throne

$

0

It's that wind down period so that means we can do achieves, yay!

The goal this week was to do the first four achievements in Antorus the Burning Throne, and they weren't too terrible, just a little long.

First up was Worm-monger with Garothi Worldbreaker.

For this one, we had to drop decimations on these larvae that pop up in various locations during the fight. They don't stay long and then they burrow back into the ground.

Here is a pic of one I took last week to show people what they look like. What is misleading is that they're not all red, they can be green or neutral coloured. And they are not targettable.

We noticed that the left sided ones tended to bury back into the ground before the decimation hit them. Not sure if they got hit or not...

So as long as you don't kill the Decimator and only kill the Annihilator, then you can keep going with the fight until you have all the worms. Once you kill the Decimator you won't have anymore annihilations.  Track the achievement - it turns white when you are complete, then you can kill the boss.

Pro Tip: Call out position of the worm (eg. back left, far right) so that people can run to the right spots.

Next, was Hounds Good to Me with Felhounds of Sargeras.

For this achievement, the dogs had to have 5 stacks of Fel Imbuement and then be killed. To do this, they had to be taken to pools which have a colour in them and take your hound to the appropriate colour. When you do, they get one stack of the Fel imbuement.

If the dogs get close to one another (40 yards), they lose their Fel imbuement, so keep them at the edges and move around.

Pro tip: Tanks call out which direction they're going if the pool they need is close to the other dog. Good communication between tanks is key.

Third on the menu was This is the War Room! with Antoran High Command.

Basically all you had to do here was only put 3 Felshield emitters. That just meant a little more healing, and on normal, even then it wasn't that much. Galestion was in the pods and he said he fell asleep because there was nothing to do. He could at least have cleared bombs....

ProTip: Get someone who has done the pods before to do it, and mark a spot where you want them to place the 3 Felshield Emitters.

The fourth achievement was Portal Combat with Portal Keeper Hasabel.

For this achievement, you have to open the Chaotic Rift and to do that, you had to get a debuff from all three portals. The red portal has the Everburning Flames, the Purple portal has Cloying Shadows, and the green portal has Caustic Slime.

Cloying Shadows is a 30 second debuff, Caustic Slime is 20 seconds. Everburning flames is a 10 second debuff.

The way we did it was to get a fast moving person to go to the Purple then Green to get the debuffs, whilst a second person goes up to Red and brings down the flame. When time on the Everburning Flames expired or is dispelled, the flame drops on the ground and can be picked up by someone else and moved. Move it to the green portal so that when the person doing the two debuffs comes out, they can pick up the Everburning Flames straight away.

This opens a Chaotic Rift, which sucks everyone towards it and also puts a coloured burning debuff on people that lasts for about 8 seconds. When the countdown hits 0 you explode for 5 million damage, but if you get up the portal platform that is the same colour as your debuff, when the debuff expires, you take no damage. It's a pretty obvious flame, like you can see on Krygore below.

So, kill Hasabel with that Chaotic rift open and we're done!

Protip: Get a fast person to run with the Purple and Green and anyone else to get the Red debuff.

So for kicks we thought we'd try the Eonar Achievement. Spheres of Influence. There are 5 orbs to collect (not ANOTHER one of those orb collecting things) and apparently you can position yourself before the fight to get the orbs. But we couldn't find them so we just started the fight.

Once we finished the fight THEN they spawned, and they spawned in the following positions. They weren't all up at the same time, and we tried to collect in order, but I don't think you need to collect them in order. What we did notice was that #5 was the last to spawn. HK was up there but it wasn't there, and every other one had been collected.

Crooked had hearthed because he thought we weren't doing it, but when he saw we were he made his way back. Poor guy was literally 20m from the entrance to raid when the orb spawned under HK's feet and then boom, we all got the achievement. Poor Crooked missed out.  Even Duggra got the achieve and he was nowhere near the boss, off at the next boss.

Protip: Have someone who is good at jumping/flying get to #5. The rest are easy to get.

So that's the first 5 achieves done! Now we can skip all those next week and get the next lot done!

Trial of Style Season 2 - New transmogs to collect

Trial of Style ran from March 5 to 9, and there was a new mog to collect. I didn't actually like the mog but I thought I had a few minutes of free time, so I'd give it a go!

Actually, what prompted me to participate again was someone complaining in general chat/trade chat that the only people who win are scantily clad blood elves. So I just HAD to go see!

So the first one I entered, the theme was "Everyday Heroes".

I don't know what that means! But I thought, I'm going to try to find something Galestion would be proud of... because Galestion has the coolest ugly mog ever! He even gets random compliments about it when he's out and about.

So this is what I came up with..

And guess what!

Well, that was a surprise! Now, I just needed 10 more tokens to get the transmog, which I can get as a consolation prize.

I entered again and this time the theme was "Faction Pride". I admit I voted for anyone with a horde tabard on! This was my preferred mog, and he ende dup winning!

So this is the leather mog that you win. Duck bill mask! Another one to gather dust in the transmog wardrobe....!

So did you see any great mogs whilst you were playing around in the Trial of Style?

Fail Friday - Wasting my Darkmoon hat

Darkmoon Faire week and I managed to get FOUR Darkmoon hats! So I thought I better use one, since I can only use it during Darkmoon Faire week. I even got Crooked to help me transport it to my alt so I could use it.

I thought, this buff is a SURE FIRE way of making me play my alt for 1 hour, because the buff lasts for one hour, and I hate wasting buffs, so I'll keep playing even if I'm falling asleep.

I was excited and off I went to do some quests. I finished off one quest in Hillsbrad, then went to do The Durnholde Challenge: Zephyrus, and I started it up and thought, oh this hurts. A second or two later, I was like OH THIS REALLY HURTS, and tried to run away. But I died.

And there went my Darkmoon experience buff. Poop. Only had it for one or two quests!!!

So, my intended one hour turned out to be a whoppping.... 12 mins. Nice one, Navi....

I finally got some Inky Black Potions

Raiding - Slowly getting guildies their mounts

$

Last week we were yelling at Coffeehunter to get online - she normally plays badminton on Thursday nights, but she rushed home so she could get online to get heroic Argus done. She made us wait a WHOLE FIVE MINUTES, and when we said it was a penalty of 200 herbs a minute, I was only half joking. But, she gave me extra herbs which I happily shoved into the bank.

This week it was Spanky's turn, and he threw me 3000 herbs. I realise in hindsight now, that I probably have too many herbs to get rid of before Battle for Azeroth, so I should have said feasts instead.

It was a little rough this week with some attitude that I will expand upon in a later post. But, there was also some weird bugginess! In Kin'garoth we were being killed by the ruiner when it wasn't even facing us. Then we heard that Coven was bugged too so we skipped that and then spent ages wiping on Aggramar which made people VERY grumpy! Awkward!

We came back on Thursday to finish up the rest and drag Spanky through the remaining bosses and Argus, so he could get his mount. We had hiccups with Coven and had to wipe a few times, but eventually we got it...

Even Neuro came along, which was cool. I wonder who wants to come along next week? I think I will ask McTacky to come.

Raiding - Achievements in Antorus the Burning Throne (Part 2)

$

Having done the first five achievements, then we worked on the next four. Next up in our achievement run was Imonar's Hard to Kill.

For this achievement all we had to do was set off all the traps on the bridge. What we ended up doing was doing it as we normally do, and when the boss returned to the original position, we sent out people to get rid of everything on the bridge. The boss shoots missiles at people on the bridge if intermission is interrupted. We had a lot of deaths on people running back to help on bombs, but with enough heals you can get through this easily enough.

Protip: Ret Paladins are great here with bubble!

Next up was Kin'garoth's The World Revolves Around Me.

For this achievement you had to have 9 balls rolling around when you kill Kin'garoth. They spawn continuously through the fight so it's not the end of the world if a few hit someone, but just need to keep in mind that you have to have the balls up. Making sure you wait for enough balls to spawn makes the damage to the raid a little more because of more abilities from adds

Protip: Use the Weakaura to track the balls.

Varimathras's achievement, Together we Stand, was a lot easier than it sounded.

Alone in the Darkness is when someone is not within 8 yards of another player - so pretty hard to do on heroic because of that Necrotic embrace. Normal is great coz you don't have Necrotic Embrace. We had the tanks face Vari towards the back wall and we stood there so we didn't get knocked back accidentally, and a warrior (Galestion) taking all the Marked Prey because he could get back to raid pretty quickly. Overall, it didn't feel much different from doing it on normal.

Protip: Stand with your backs to a wall. Warriors and rogues are good for getting back quickly (though so are monks)

The last planned achievement for the night was Coven's Remember the Titans.

The Machinations of Aman'thul were the ones that hurt the most so it's pretty unlucky to have them pop up first or you'll have to deal with their damage for a loooong time. Not so bad if you have a lot of healers, but it's annoying extra damage. Wowhead said if we get it first to kill all of them so we can just wait for another round, but I didn't realise that the rounds are random! So we didn't get another one after we got the 3 other torments, we had something else x2, but fortunately once it appeared again we just said go all out on the boss, and we had a lot of dead people by then because they forgot to spread out for the Golganneth add was up!

Protip: use one of the corners to cc the torments. We had a Norgannon add cc'd there, as well as the Golganneth add and the Khaz'garoth one. Warlock banish is great for Norgannon add.

We spent a good half our at least trying to get the Aggramar achievement but kept failing, so by 1030pm we stopped trying and just killed Agg and Argus normally. Guess we'll do them next week!

I was lamenting that I was running out of food to give Nomi. How was I going to get more Broken Isles Recipe Scraps?

But as I was searching through my bank for food to give to Nomi (and just purchased some with blood to make up my 24 work orders), I opened my cook book and realised something.

I had all recipes as 3 star already.

Crap, how long have I had that for??? Hmm... I think the last new recipe I had was about 2 weeks ago.

Navi you twit.

Got this one from an Emissary cache (the one you get for reputation of 10000). Another one to add to the pile - unless I level my monk who is only level 91!

So this is a real Jade Puzzle Box... I didn't realise that's what they were called!

So what will the next one be? I am guessing hunter! Though, I have seen some people be really unlucky with their legendary purchases...
