Getting used to druid healing after Patch 8.0

$

Since 8.0 dropped i hadn't done any healing. In fact, I was a bit rusty because I hadn't healed in a while, what with Fortnite and all..

So I said let's go do a M+. I haven't been to one for a while. Rip had actually asked me to come heal a quick 16 but I hadn't played with my talents properly, so I was kinda winging it and warming up.

So I got Anna and Gal and Galestion and HK to go do a quick M+ with me, something easy like a 16 Blackrook. Silly me didn't set my talents up properly.

Things I forgot. I have no weapon traits anymore. And Healing Touch is gone. Abundance now decreases the mana cost of Regrowth for each active rejuvenation as well as increases the crit chance (both by 6%). Sounds cool right? Except that the old abundance decreased the healing TIME of healing touch so I was used to throwing lots of rejuvs around and spamming some instant Healing touches to top people up. Well, can't do THAT anymore and regrowth seems to take FOREVER to case when you're trying to top up in a hurry!

Level 100 talents are also a fair bit different. Photosynthesis can cause lifebloom to crit on the target when you have it on an ally, but if you have LB on yourself, your HoTs are 15% faster. Germination is unchanged, but Flourish now has Essence of G'hanir added to it too.

So off I went, and it's Grievous week and I was happily throwing my rejuvs around thinking I could HT them.  Errr, what's wrong with my HT? Why was it not going off? In fact, where is it?? OMG it's gone! So then I'm using Regrowth instead and it seems so SLOW trying to top everyone off.. where is my essence of G'Hanir so I can increase the healing of these HoTs... OH that's gone...

Darn it everyone is so low, I'll tranq.  Oops I forgot that the tranquility trait is gone so I cast Tranq and took a step and then that ended the tranq. Well SHIT.

So it was a pretty rough key, I felt like an idiot, especially since I forgot to take Typhoon because I had mighty Bash on from PvP before, and it was Sanguine week and couldn't move the mobs out of the puddles.

After that key (luckily we finished it in time, no thanks to ME), I asked around and everyone is totally fine with the changes. It's just  me who is the idiot.

Time for more practice. I guess I'd better raid next week!

Frostwolves Guild Meetup in Perth

Hyad (my husband) had to go to Perth for a conference the weekend after we got back from Canada, and I thought... well, this might be a nice opportunity to catch up with my West Coast guildies.

HK was keen to come too, and even Crooked was considering it too! I was pleased - that would help boost numbers!

I was disappointed being unable to book any restaurants in Crown Perth as if it was close by, then Hyad could come as well before his conference. It was annoying as they weren't booked out or anything, so I booked a restaurant called Coco's in South Perth. The kids decided they would rather stay in their room and play iPad so just HK and I headed out.

Mesamerlin was in town playing hockey (he lives in Sydney), and he messaged me the day before saying he couldn't make it as he had sports stuff to do. That was a shame!

So HK and I found Crooked at the ferry and walked up to Coco's where Aza and Ultra were at the bar. Hugs from me, and handshakes all round for the boys and we sat down at our table and waited to see who would turn up next.

The trio of brothers turned up next - Splatzor, Tyefoods and their brother D. Splatz and D were dressed very swish, with peacoats and a suit much to my horror, as I was in my yogapants and WoW druid hoodie. However, the presence of Tye looking scruffy made me feel somewhat reassured!

Then Mesa surprised me by saying he was coming and he turned up saying he didn't know what anyone looked like but I said I'd spot him - basically the person who walks in who looks like they're a bit lost looking for someone is the person who is supposed to come sit with us!

People couldn't remember who he was, so lucky I was there. When I said he was the only mage that turned up to raids some while back, they were thinking of  Furyfire. Poor Fury, the only thing everyone can remember is that Fury is ALWAYS lost. Worse than me! But no, Mesa is not Furyfire he initially joined on his monk, Mesabrew. I remember when he joined months ago, I said to everyone in Discord to be nice to him, and Galestion was horribly embarrassing by saying in guild "Oh, hi! You're that new monk who is really good right? Welcome!!"

So, here we are at a fancy restaurant and we're having ribeyes, risottos, lasagne or ravioli, and Tye orders...

2 buckets of chips with tomato sauce. In fact, the waitresses snickered when Splatz commented to Tye, "You come to a fancy restaurant and order CHIPS?"

And then Splatz started the Long Island Tea train. Which continued well AFTER lunch!

We headed back to the casino and bummed around at the Merrywell (which wasn't that busy - GO FIGURE) and Neri and Disco joined us with their 2 pups in tow. Disco said he was thinking of playing again - Neri went with Casa to alliance (but you never know when they will return lol).

Splatz then drank 2 jugs of long island tea on his own! How was he still upright? I took 2 sips and I felt a bit fuzzy! Spoon kept plying Crooked with alcohol who downed it heartily. Unlikely to be the alcohol (but just Crooked being Crooked) but a lady came around to the table asking if we'd like to join the Crown club - and if you join with 6 people we can get a $30 voucher. Crooked looked her dead in the eye and straightfaced said "I'm never coming back here." A little flustered she said ok have a nice meal and wandered off.

Hubby Hyad turned up and chatted to guildies for a bit before he went up to look after the kids.

I had a fantastic time, hanging out with my friends for well over 5 hours. Thanks guys for a great day out!

And what would a guild meetup be without photos to prove we were there? With edited heads and all!!!

Tree burning reactions and Heroic Antorus for s***s and giggles

Today was the BIG BONFIRE DAY so everyone was talking about it and getting ready to rib for Genowen about it. Ram told us that we actually should be easy on her a little as the whole tree burning on the alliance side really upset her, to tears in fact.

So I felt bad and told people not to tease her so much about the whole thing. I did it quickly myself before raid and it was a bit shocking.

** Spoilers now, but I think everyone has seen the video or played the questline! **

When I was playing I was a bit surprised to see Saurfang hit Malfurion from behind, but my initial dismay at his lack of honour was made up when he refused to make the killing blow as ordered by Sylvanas. I was shocked to think that Malfurion could be DEAD. But, he was just at 1% health, and Tyrande came and took him away, hearthing to Stormwind if you moused over her as she was doing her teleport (on Saurfang's suggestion that she avoid Darnassus). Saurfang even went away to think over the whole thing... perhaps he will be a new figure to look up to later in the expansion, a hero of honour that will make us Horde feel justified again. At the moment I just feel like I'm a bastard, being a part of all this.

It felt needlessly malicious to burn the World tree in Darnassus. Was it meant to make me dislike my own faction leader? Crooked said to me that Blizz described this as morally grey on Sylvanas' part, but the destruction of innocents because this is war? If Sylvanas was going to raise an army of undead from the night elf corpses to repopulate the Forsaken population, then perhaps this could be classed as "survival", but otherwise I feel dirty. And Malfurion TRAINED me, he is my archdruid! I am glad I had no part in hitting him, but just stood around as an innocent bystander whilst they nearly killed him.

After that revelation, I went to raid in Antorus. We were wondering if we could do some mythic for fun, but the turnout was a bit too casual for mythic, so we just did heroic. Even so, I got to play with some changes and gauge myself against the others. We were going for a full clear so we just went to every boss and did  some half hearted instructions as we blitzed through stuff. We still did wipe when we were stuffing around though!

So I was trying to use Velens and perhaps I should have used the shoulders (Amanthul's) with it. It's just that I am reluctant to use Velen's except when I'm doing tranquility but by then a few healers have used their cooldowns so the Velens is wasted. Also, I did the dumb tranq-step-shit-I-only-got-one-tick-off thing again, but I spent the rest of the raid trying to improve that.

So once I switched back to Antorus 4 piece and chest and neck and healed as I normally did (though without HT I felt I was doing more regrowths which was costing me mana even though I was laying out the rejuvs), and I did better. Actually, after Frostie left (she was healing on her holy priest for an hour) I did a LOT better, without someone else getting all their heals in!

So, this was interesting, Splatz's paladin got a legendary that he already had. He had bought it, and I didn't know you could get 2 of the same legendary. Maybe because it's a bought one that they haven't recorded it as "received". Weird!

So, I'll wait till I get home to post some more pics. Gonna polish off the rest of the raid tonight, and I'll see how we stand!

Fail Friday - Raby Tavern's lack of Battle for Azeroth Burgers #ForTheHordeANZ

This week's Fail Friday goes to Raby Tavern.

We had this great evening planned to go try these Battle for Azeroth burgers by Burgers by Josh. He had them at 2 Sydney pubs - Raby Tavern and Annandale Tavern.

So, since Raby Tavern is close to work for me and on the way home, I thought I could get Koda to come. And Guns and Rotticus since they were out that way. Erve too, he's not far! And Consti as well. Ayelena jumped on the bandwagon and said he'd come too!

So here we are, all set to go, and I had even messaged Burgers by Josh to ask if they would still have them and they said yes! But yesterday, the day before we were going to go, Koda rang them and they said they ran out of the coloured bun and weren't getting anymore!

BOOOOO Naughty Raby Tavern! I guess it's possible that it was more popular there?

I rang Annandale and the person on the other end told me that they still had them in Annandale and they would STILL have them on Friday, so I asked everyone but only Ayelena and Corael and HK would come. It was after all, a big hike out to Annandale from Campbelltown way.

So off we went, and yes they were still on the menu!

Well, ONE of us had to try the Alliance burger. I said we were eating it for research purposes. 3 Horde and 1 Alliance.

Corael ate his burger SO FAST. Both he and Ayelena really enjoyed the burger! I think both burgers were well done, the problem is their size. It just feels too big to eat for me! By the time I was finishing the burger, it was a bit mushy and cold.

The Horde burger was very spicy, which actually was quite good making it an adult only burger, in my opinion. The chicken was crispy and the maple bacon added a sweetness to the whole concotion that really is nice when you first bite into it. A sweet and spicy burger!

The Alliance burger was a little spicy too, so if you can't handle a little bit of spice, then I'd have to suggest you avoided either burger. This burger tasted more like a standard burger. The potato bun wasn't too heavy, but I think it could be lighter, given the contents of the burger. And after eating the Horde burger first, I feel like the Alliance burger was a little less exciting in comparison.

Ayelena ate 3 chillies, I only ate 1. It was hot, so I had to put ice in my mouth 3 times to cool off a bit. It wasn't TERRIBLY unbearable, but it was definitely hot!

It was a good night out, and a great opportunity to try these burgers. My vote goes to the Horde burger! #ForTHeHordeANZ

Navi's Thoughts: "Old Soldier" Cinematic

I saw this on the launcher when I logged in. And all I can say is WOW.

I watched Warbringers: Jaina, and Warbrainers: Sylvanas, and though they were good, I didn't have the same reaction as I did to Saurfang's video.

Saurfang's despair, his loss, mirrors how I feel about the events. The lack of honour in this whole Darnassus sacking really bothered me, and I know it bothered a lot of people who play Horde.

Exray and Aza told me that no it's bad, this video. In 2 weeks, apparently I will understand. Next week I will feel bad at the battle for UC. OK. I guess I'll ride this emotional roller coaster till then.

But at the moment, perhaps this video was released to make me think that I am not the only one feeling uncomfortable about this week's events. That I don't have to be a mindless murderer to be horde. That to be horde is to be honourable.

Oh, and by the way, I was confused why Saurfang said about living another day "Without honour?" but this tweet suddenly made it all clear....

Makes so much more sense!

Anyway, I guess we shall see. And then I'll understand. And there will be more uproar about the story...

More "Old Soldier" reactions, breakdowns, and this shoulder thing

If I was in tears, I wondered what Panzer would be doing. So I watched her reaction video, and yep, there were tears.

It's interesting because I am sure Blizz wants us to feel these emotions! Wants us to hate Sylvanas. Wants us to know that we yearn for honour and somehow that this is going to all make sense... or maybe we're just lining up Sylvanas for a kill...

I noticed that Spankyhunter linked me a breakdown video about Old Soldier which I spent a whopping FIFTY minutes watching. It was good, Bay's enthusiasm about CGI and animation clearly shows as he nerds out about snow and ash and wrappings on the horde pendant.

I think there will be T-shirts for Zappyboi come next Blizzcon, if not soon! He has been such a fan fave. Apparently it's been released that his name is Zekhan as tweeted by @TerranGregory
And this shoulder thing. I didn't know it was a thing. Now I think I shall jump onto the bandwagon of Shoulders for Saurfang to show my support for as a Horde I want to be honourable (as opposed to using it as a protest for "I don't like how you made Horde do this" YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE). Now to find something that won't make me look totally ridiculous....

Legion Dungeon Achievements: Karazhan and Cathedral

Not long till expac! Might as well knock out a few non-meta achievements for dungeons with some achievement buddies...

HK, Crooked, Coffee, Galestion and myself were the achievement warriors (well, at least Galestion was a warrior), and on Sunday evening, we headed out to Karazhan to start our achievement run.

It's been a while since I've done it on regular mythic. We went in, and since the achieves that I was looking at were in the later part (upper) Karazhan, we thought we'd sneak on upstairs. Umm, we can't. The door's locked. We have to go get Moroes first. Darn it, we have to do a full clear.

Fortunately, along the way Coffee got her final event for Opera, and then everyone else was trying to get Burn After Reading (which was to get all 4 of the sealed Tomes, which are in the 3 rooms in the corridor before Maiden). HK, Crooked and Coffee got all theirs, phew, just enough books to go around!

We polished off Moroes and then we headed up to start on the upper Kara achievements. First one was The Rat Pack, and I was wondering where all the rats were.  We only ever see that one near the door of Shade of Aran! When you loot the rats, rodents of usual size will appear in your bag (I wonder if this a pop culture reference to Rodents of Unusual size in Princess Bride...).  However, we found them all easily, phew! 2 were right at where you zone in after Curator, one was in down the ramp amongst the walking Eredar, one was off the side down the ramp opposite where we'd normally go at the end of the ledge behind an eredar, and the last one in front of Shade of Aran's room.

The first achievement we got was Scared Straight, where you had to click a tome on the floor to get the Paranoid debuff. This makes you run for 5 seconds after you move. Annoying at times, but once you figured out just to stand still, it was no drama! I was worried about Flame Rings but we killed it quick enough that we didn't have to worry about that.

On to Mana Wyrm next and this is where we all got to ride our rats. I was worrying unnecessarily and we got it easily.

After finishing off the dungeon, we decided to hit up Cathedral of Eternal Night for some more achievements.

The first one was Boom Bloom, where we had to explode the flower adds that fixate on us during the first boss on to of some budding seeds. They seeds look like this and they are around the room.

After the adds pop on it, they flower, like this!

Coffee missed one (it hit her before she got to her budding seed) so we all decided to stand on her seed and explode ours on it, just to be sure. I was worried... but it was ok.

Next up was Thrashbite, and A Steamy Romance Saga. All of the 4 bookshelves need to be destroyed and they drop a book on the ground which you have to click.

I'm just showing you this pic so you can see the books on the ground. They are the ghostly looking books, but you have to click it before he dies of course. The book drops right where the bookcase was, so remember to click it!

After you click the first book (we started in SW corner), you get some debuffs with funny names! After the first book, you get Mildly Amused, after the second you're Moderately Stirred. After the third you're Fairly Excited, and when you click on the last book you get Totally Tantalized and then you can kill Thrashbite.

Some of the others didn't have Master of Shadows where you had to use the shield to block 20 orbs from hitting Illidan. You can do 10 in the first round and 10 if you go slow on DPS and wait for Mephistroth to go into the images phase again, or you can let a couple of orbs go in so that they interrupt Illidan from casting and then the phase doesn't change. Wasn't too bad except we wiped it because someone accidentally died and we weren't sure they would get the achievement so we started over.

Only Seat of the Triumverate left and all the achievements will be wiped off for me for Legion dungeons!

Navi's Thoughts: The Battle for Lordaeron

$

We all knew it was coming this week, and things were a little different to what I expected... and I can see they're just trying to make us hate Sylvanas even more.

Where to start? And, a brief warning for spoilers if you haven't done it already, but I bet you have already done it... right??

Sylvanas calls us all back to Undercity, so we all go via Orgrimmar. Then we start a 20 man scenario (which can be queued as a group), where we're running around killing alliance agents hidden in various places in Undercity itself.

We go out, and start attacking the alliance, and then while we're fighting an azerite machine comes out which doesn't really do much damage and gets killed pretty quickly. Then a bit of a shock! They throw blight all over us and we are given the option of covering things with blight or rescuing survivors. I chose not to throw blight around and tried to save some people.

Horde and Alliance are dying and being ressurected as corpses Lich King style! Woah... that's just a bit out there with a smidge of evil! Saurfang is NOT impressed. And then, conspicuously absent. Then Pirate Captain Jaina turns up and blasts everything away. Arrrr!

You know, if Horde were resurrected to fight with their own free will, that might be ok, but if they're reborn as enslaved undead with no will of their own, but merely puppets, then I have an issue with that. Especially if we died against our will!

Alliance advance and we run, with our faction leaders protecting our escape. I kept looking back to see if my leader, Baine was ok!

Then we find Saurfang who expresses his displeasure at the events, and leaves to fight the alliance honourably, I presume.

We all run away, leaving Sylvanas to deal with the Alliance leaders herself. Why didn't they kill her then and there? I suppose that is showing that Alliance are merciful and good?

Crooked even said  that Jaina had a Bond Villain thing going. Or maybe, being like Loki, and all the Avengers come in to fight him while he's essentially on his own being a smug little poophead.

Well, then she dropped a big plague thing on Undercity and that's the end of that. We all ran away, minus Saurfang.

My guildies told me I would think differently of Saurfang after Battle for Lordaeron, but I don't really. He is sooking about the whole thing, but he was sooking before. Where did he go? Is he dead? I don't think so... everyone gave me spoilers and said that he was in prison somewhere. OK, I guess we'll see more of him in Battle for Azeroth then. Not sure how being captured is honourable...

But now, I don't really like Sylvanas, but she is my leader. It's so annoying because I really actually LIKED Sylvanas before all this, but I am wondering where all this is taking us. How do you make new Forsaken? The only way is to raise more dead. But I suppose, raising the fallen soldier who died in combat, rather than killing everyone to raise them as undead - the same end result, but the way to get there is what determines what is more morally acceptable.

Achievements - And that's Archaeology done for Legion!

I finally dug my 250 digsites. Galestion was a Groundbreaker for ages but now I am a Groundbreaker too!

It actually helped a lot to do some digging with Crooked. Having a dig partner made time go faster - and being in Discord chatting also helps time fly.

I actually despaired of getting it done - I was having a moan at Galestion and he said that I should do one dig a day. Do a world quest there, do a dig. It makes it less painful. It was good advice. I did manage to creep forward and in this final week I was 12 or 13 sites away from completion.

With BFA about to drop in a week, the likelihood of coming back to dig is remote. Crooked and I compared some statistics about digging.

In Legion, I completed my Pristines before him. In WoD, he finished way before me. And also I finished with way less digsites. I still don't have my Blue bug mount, and he still has one more pristine mogu coin to get. I wonder if the darned thing exists... all my crates are used up and I've done 238 solves with only 3 rares in Tol'vir.

Darn you RNG!

Darkmoon Faire Boar Blight Concert - Perfect Performance

$

I spent the better part of the evening trying to get my Big Race with the Racing Strider in 20 tolls and failing miserably, despite Spanky and Coffee spending so much time to help me. I felt like an idiot. I think the best I got was 22. I have real issue with the jump off the cliff and losing the walk on water buff.

So I thought I'd give a go at the Boar Blight concert. I have done it many times, but never to do the achievements where you get roles. For those who have been hiding under a rock, the Boar Blight concert is a rock band that plays hourly on the half hour (Elite Tauren Chieftains plays hourly on the hour). The Death Metal Knight drops a variety of items, the most coveted being Necromedes (guitar transmog), Cage helms (all identical for classes) and a toy (microphone).

I didn't quite understand how to get the roles - I knew there was some dodging of the banshee waves and catching the lights, but I felt like I lost points everytime I caught the lights, so I wasn't doing well on that front. I did however get the toy earlier this week, but with the guitar and the ugly cage hat to get too, there was incentive to keep going.

Crooked had done it a few times but somehow didn't get the achievement. When he, Spanky, Coffee and I did it together, he stayed right till the end, and he got the achievement. By then Coffee was getting sleepy so she and Spanky went to bed.

Crooked and I managed to both get one of the band's roles, and you even gain the appearance of that band member for a little while.

In the previous attempt I had missed one of the lights, but dodged all the waves, so I got the Bassist.  I said I'd go again to see if I could get some of the other roles, so I hung around in DMF, even turning down a M+ to sit around in DMF to try again. I had queued up in group finder when I was in a group with my friends, so I queued up again - the more the merrier right? And the more chance to get an achievement!

So off I went again on the half hour - this time I got hit by a wave, so I managed to get Vocalist this time. However I was pleasantly surprised because I managed to get Perfect Performance!

Perfect Performance is where of all the people present, there has to be one person in each of the roles (Drummer, Bassist, Guitarist and Vocalist). You don't have to be grouped, just any of the people there, which also includes alliance. The funny thing about how you get the role is, that the person with the highest score who did all the things for the role (banshee waves and lights) will get the role. You can get the role after they go away if the concert is still going!

Poor Crooked, he was still waiting for M+ to start and he could have been with me! But, maybe it's a common thing to get the achievement, so hopefully he will pick it up next time. I was just lucky!

At least getting that achievement made up for my pathetic race attempts. I really really hate that race!

"Goodbye Legion" by Frostwolves in screenshots

It's the last night before Battle for Azeroth, and there are so many people online doing last minute things, talking about getting ready for levelling tomorrow.

I thought that I'd ask my guildies to send me a pic that reminds them of Legion - maybe the best part, or the worst, or just something that will remind them of Legion. I pretty much browbeat them all into doing it, but here are some pics (in no particular order)!

COFFEEHUNTER
Nightbane and Karazhan. Trust Coffee to have a picture done by Spanky. I think he takes all the screenshots and she just stands around looking pretty.
 DEEZ
"Legion wasn't really that good for me. I wanted a picture with my new guild and people I've chatted to - Gen, Ram, Fin, Navi and Krygore." Hmm. He really should work on his screenshot skills. But it's the thought that counts. And kinda cool to include me in the pic #browniepoints
CROOKED
"Doing PvP towers with Rehgar Earthfury constantly talking." I wonder if Rehgar yells as much as Broll does... "I am Nature's Rage! Do not cross Nature's Guardians!"
 FAITHLESS
"Sums up my memory of Legion! I died to get that screenshot too! My memory of legion is the gazillion times I trid to get THAT chest in the underbelly LOL"
 GENOWEN
"My favourite peaceful spot, away from all the non-druids :) I can still pretend I'm a night elf in here :P"
 KODA/COSIMA
"Koda with Koda Steelclaw". I remember pretty much everyone in the guild saying "KODA YOU'RE IN LEGION!!!"
 KRYGORE

Krygore/Vorkrack sent me 2 pics. One was in the shaman class hall, and the other was this statue in Stormheim.
 KYERE
Kyere's favourite transmog
 MADCOW
"On the bridge"
 RAM
"I can't think of anything!" Well, this is better than nothing :)
 SEV AND EURIE
Considering the two of them met and started dating in Legion, it's unsurpising that they have couples pics. I guess I"ll allow them two pics. This is FelEurie and FelSev.
But this pic is really NAAWWWWWWW :D

 SPANKYHUNTER
That Spanky. I've got the warm fuzzies from him saying this defined Legion. Joining Frostwolves.
GALESTION
"I think Warframe with Argus sums it up"
 AIMEI/HK
"Starting the hidden quest that unlocked the WQ on Eye of Azshara for the mount/pet. The whole of Legion Navi dragged me around doing these hidden secret things that she couldn't even find half the time, I had to do it."
 SPLATZOR
"I have a serious submission for a screenshot that reminds me of Legion. The time Frostwolves got together and did this." Wow, Splatz, that's a real tearjerker. Miss ya Xyn.
 SPOONABLE
"Make sure this pic is in wherever you're putting it up." Of course, Spoon would put up something that pokes fun at Galestion (how the hell did he get that death pose, it's absolutely hilarious, great screenshot Spoon)
 TYEFOODS
"That's mine." HAHAHAA poor Tye, he never got his tier hat.
 ULTRAPWND
"A Day of raiding". The funniest thing about this picture is that Ultra is dead and somehow GENOWEN is alive...
FINADAMA
Fin, as usual, didn't have much to say. But at least he sent a pic.
LUSHEN
"My fave boss"
EXRAY
"Camping people whilst doing World PvP" Man. such trolls!
NAVIMIE
Argus in the background and me flying. I am not sure if I have the inky black potion on for this screenshot. To me, Legion was about druids being together and smacking demons.
All those good things about Legion, hard to capture in a screenshot. Mythic Plus. Alliance and Horde working together. Seeing all druids in one spot! The hidden quests and secret stuff was pretty cool this expansion! So many to do, and I still haven't done them all yet. And yes, this is the expansion we lost 2 dear friends, but I think they would both be glad that we are still playing the game that we met them in, looking forward to our next adventure.

Goodbye Legion. Battle for Azeroth, we'll see you in just under 8 hours!

Legion Dungeon Achievements - Seat of the Triumverate

$

0
Last lot of dungeon achievements to go! With only a couple of days left till BFA drops, on Sunday we put aside some time to do Seat of the Triumverate's achievements.

The first one was Welcome to the Void. When the first boss, Zuraal, sends you to the void realm, outside the edges there is another mob, Urdal. Pull Urdal, then use the ability extra button to get out of the void realm (after you kill little adds) and then Urdal will come to our realm and we can kill him.

It was kinda weird, but it felt like a few of our party members went into the void realm... bam! Achievement!

The next achievement was Let it All Out, where you had to get Darkfang to jump on you and destroy the sealed void caches - which look like bubbles on a pad, and if you stand on them when Darkfang jumps to you the bubble pops. There are 4 which can spawn in different places, so just put markers on them and have the group stack on them.

The last achievement was Darker Side. We were a bit confused at first, but what you need to do is get a debuff called Crushing Darkness. It took us a while to figure out that it was from the big swirlies outside (not the debuff you get from mobs that pulls you in) which pull you in. This picture I took isn't very helpful... but I am standing in one.

The Crushing Darkness debuff does some ticking damage every 2 seconds - fortunately it's quite trivial so not a big issue.

All we had to do now was kill L'ura ... and not die! So we did that but the cutscene interrupted my achievement screenshotting, so I'll have to make do with this guild spam.

Now I'm not sure why Aimei is not in the spam, but he did get it also!

That's all the Legion Dungeon achievements done! Bring on Battle for Azeroth and MORE new achievements!

At 755am everyone was poised to level. I was so jelly - I can't take days off to play like I used to (too much responsibilities now!) and I was busy at work so I logged on a little bit to do some small questing and then wait for HK when he got home so we could do proper levelling.

By the time I got home, I got online just in time to see Splatz ding 120, closely followed by Exray (on Owl). The third to ding was Tyefoods! Nobody saw that coming! I had a guild guessing competition and nobody guessed that trifecta.

By the end of the night we had many more 120s.

I feel like I'm missing out, but I was only going to go through this once so I tried to read as much as I could. In truth, the story was actually quite good and there were lots of great characters!

On Friday afternoon at about 8pm I finally dinged!

So here is the order of 120 dings (as of 5pm 18/8)

1. Splatz
2. Owl
3. Tyefighter

24. Xhaka
25. Kyere
26. Goodgravy
27. Skadoos
28. Taxar
29. Bloodheals
30. Brannaki
31. Nerdoflight
32. Marzog
33. Morkra

50. Kasrkin
51. Pippistix
52. Madcow
53. Galilectra
54. Delanoben
55. Throne
56. Faithless

Interesting to note that HK was the first to level 2 120s (Aimei and Galilectra). However hats off to the top 10 who made it in an amazing record time!

Of course, there are people in the list who were not racing. That's ok! We all play to have fun, and speed levelling is fun for some and also fun to watch. But some like to read the story, and that's totally ok too.

Cool things you didn't expect in Battle for Azeroth

There are a number of "little' things which make Battle for Azeroth rather cool! I love discovering those little things - especially pop culture references and named items!

The first thing is the Spirit Rezzer. I had not died in my levelling adventures (having not levelled in War Mode) till 120, so when guildies talked about it, I didn't know what they were talking about. So when I actually died, I was giggling at what I saw.

Bwonsamdi as the spirit rezzer is hilarious (for those who don't know, he is the Loa of death in Zandalar) and he is amusing during the quest chain with his quips and sardonic sense of humour.  "Tsk Tsk, I did not expect to be seein' you here so soon," he said to me. I didn't realise that what he says to me is different to what he says to the other classes! Actually makes me WANT to die to see what else he says!

I was also excited to see this in trade chat - I really want one now to add to my fan collection!

@MsMiggy worked for BlizzANZ and she organised meeteups and got us Aussie Blizzard fans into a number of events! I brought her some TimTams at the last Blizzcon I went to (since she has since moved back to the States to be at BlizzHQ). She mains a gnome and here is a pic of when I Navispammed her!

And there were of course some rather cool NPCs...

Kremit (Kermit) and Miggy (Miss Piggy). The guitar and rainbow a refernce to the Rainbow Connection.

Bri'tani (Spears) as in Britney Spears.  "It's Britney, b***h"

And hilarious quests - the first time HK and I saw this we were like "Woah something huge just went over us WTF was that!" And then we did the quest and were like "Oohhhhh, that's what it was."

I could talk all day but I really shoud publish this post. So what cool things did you discover in BFA? Drop me a line!

Me and Lilindrena's pet adventure - Wicker Pup

I was online at work during a particularly long operation when Lilindrena said "I can't see any pet battles on the map." She was max level, she should be able to see them.

I whispered her "You have the pet battles ticked in the map option, right?" She answered that she did. Well, I thought I would take her to one and see if she had it unlocked or not. So we grouped up and I drove over to the pet battle, which triggered for her and suddenly now she could see pet battles on the map.

Weird.

Since we were hanging out she asked me about some pets and I asked about other pets, and then I said we should go get this Wicker Pup which has a few parts scattered around Drustvar. So off we went together to go find all the pieces.

There's a great wicker pup guide on youtube, but I just read the wowhead comments instead. Here is the video for those who want to watch it from my friend Cymre:

But for those who just want coordinates put these into your Tom Tom

Hexed Chest 18, 51
Bespelled Chest 55, 52
Ensorcelled Chest  68, 73
Enchanted Chest 25, 24

Here's me and Lil hanging out at some of those chests. You have to click the fires in a certain order before the chest is revealed.

Fail Friday - Zandalar Forever

I make no secret of the fact that I didn't read up ANYTHING and I have no idea what's going on. People talk to me about getting attuned for some dungeons and I'm like...

Even Exray is talking to me about Azerite resto talents and I'm like...

So, after doofing around just trying to get some gear sorted, I think to myself, OK, I'd better do whatever it is to get these dungeons opened. But, to give me some credit, I have been working really hard at RL work during the expansion period!

King's Rest is what everyone was doing first. How do I unlock that, I asked. You just have to complete the Zandalar Forever achievement. I know that's a questline but I thought I'd better get working on it.

So I was off finishing Vol'dun with HK, and I didn't realise that I didn't have to do ALL the quests in Vol'dun, the Kings line stuff was what I was supposed to be doing. I spent hours doing every little side quest in the zone until we finally got it done and I was up to the last bit, which Kjersten told me was to see the cutscene and ride dinosaurs.

Yeah, well I didn't know what he was talking about. Only the next evening did I realise there was a quest in the north part of Zandalar that was the start of that quest. Got that done and yay! Now I can do King's Rest.

Gosh, if I had just done those King quests I would have been done days ago! Good going Navi....

Fail Friday - What is he wearing!

I was in Tiragarde Sound and I saw this Flight Master and nearly fell off my chair.

What travesty is this! This sailor human is wearing druid tier gear! How did he even get it on!?

I realised afterwards that he might have been a worgen in disguise, in which case he can wear it. But man, he looks weird wearing it!

Am I being critical because he's fat? Maybe. But it still looks terrible. Just because one is overweight does not mean you have no fashion sense!

Pirate Navimie!

There are some pretty cool transmogs if you want to get into the whole sailor/pirate theme here on Zandalar/Kul'Tiras.

This is my latest one - Pirate Navimie!

The cool thing about the meat haunch offhand is that it seems to show up when I am doing stuff like fishing!

Fishing and munching on a turkey hock. Nom nom nom.
There is also a Hook fist weapon, which is also a great look, but I like the dagger because it looks like a swashbuckling sword and I can't use swords!

A reminder to all that it's the Trial of Style world event at the moment so go and have a bit of fun dressing up and being silly! There isn't anything new this season in terms of rewards, but you can create your own fan using an item purchased with 100 tokens during the event. Unfortunately, the fan can only be used the Trial of Style - it would be SO much better as a toy! Imagine us pulling that out after a boss kill!

Guildleader chores - Guild spring cleaning and name shenanigans

HK has been very frustrated at me because I have been very distracted these past week or so.

"Why are you typing all the time," he said. "Can you concentrate on healing please?"

I'm not just typing to Spanky, or yapping with Ram or Gen. I'm actually typing to the MANY people who are wanting to join the guild. There has been a huge influx in the last week or so!

Let's see if I can name them all, and we can look back in a year and see if these guys are still here!

There were a few of Gravy's friends - Magicstorm (who also turned out to know Kjersten as well), Then Karskin who was friends with Brannaki, Djalu and Dixon who were friends with Morkra - oh and Kaayli. That made a nice little M+ group!

Hotter and Gib came next who were actually a longer conversation - also friends with Morkra. Did he put out an ad or something??? LOL

Then Sleepyjoe (friend of Brann), Narnio (one of Crooked's friends), and Pancake's friend Mightypain (who speaks hilariously in guild chat), Narnio (friend of Crooked), Mightypain (friend of Pancake) and Persephone (a friend of Gravy). Phew!

Talking to each new recruit is such a long process. I tend to micromanage the people side of things (and leave the raid stuff and guild bank to everyone else) that I have a personal say in all new recruits, so that I get a feel for all the people here.

Then it was time to clean up the guild - a lot of unplayed alts and people who hadn't logged on for 2 years. People were freaking out that I was on some sort of angry rampage - not at all, our guild is approaching 1000 characters and with everyone's alts in there too, it was getting rather full in the guild! Taxar politely logged onto all his toons he hadn't played in forever and removed them from the guild. He didn't have to do that... but it did help!

Interestingly, I had my first guild decline the other day. Magic wanted a friend of his to to join the guild and be less reclusive, and he whispered me and you can tell in the whisper that he was only doing it because Magic wanted him to. So I may have over exaggerated our behaviour rules and also mentioning that inappropriate toon names may not be looked upon favourably (and would also not be allowed in the guild) and with all the pauses in replies, I wasn't surprised that he declined to join.

WARNING - SOME ADULT CONTENT AHEAD

I apologised to Magic for scaring off his friend, and he said it's ok, his friend had some toon names which were rather questionable. He told me what they were, and I was puzzled as I didn't know what they meant.

"HK," I asked, "What is a Gloryholl? Is it something rude?"

Well, HK was a bit taken aback and told me in simple terms what it was - a hole in the wall that men like to... well, get what I'm saying. I thought it was rather amusing, and considering the last time there was a rude word and half the officers didn't know what it was, I thought I would ask in officer.

Splatz may have choked on some of his drink when he read my question.

Magic then told me that his friend also had a toon whose name was a play on Fleshlight. Of course, I had no idea what that was. So I also asked in officer.

"How are you so innocent?" said Splatz, after I exclaimed over my discovery on Google that it was essentially a vagina on a stick.

"I don't play with male sex toys," I retorted.

I thought the whole conversation was too good to not share with the guild, so I asked in guild what a Fleshlight was, and the guild chat literally erupted into hilarious chaos. I told Magic to tell his friend that although his friend did not join the guild, there was much entertainment to be had from his name. Guess I may have overexaggerated our prudishness - but, we can't let everyone know how cool it is here, otherwise EVERYONE would want to join!

You No Good, Dirty, Rotten Candy Stealers! A secret pet vendor!

I came across this tree house in Drustvar last week and when I looted a chest I got some candy and this temporary title.

When I went to look it up later, it's actually part 1 of unlocking a pet vendor!

So, I dragged HK and Crooked back to it on Tuesday night to go unlock this vendor. Firstly, we had to stop at Anyport and talk to Xun Xun Sweetflower so we can get some Tirasreli Gourmet Chocolate. The stickler is that you have to buy 10 of them and they're 50g a pop!

"I have to spend WHAT now?" said HK. "I have to pay 500g for this?"

Crooked was the same. "I don't want to do this Navi, I'm not going to unlock a vendor whose pets I can't buy yet, since I don't have enough pet tokens."

"Fine," I said. "I'll go by myself then."

But they came anyway. We had to click the chest twice - well they did, because you need to have the chocolates on you when you click the chest. I didn't get the title again, but both of them did.

The two kids sitting here are Jonathon "Johnny" Presterby and Marcus Howlingdale. They are actually part of an alliance only quest chain Mistakes Were Made, where you had to find the members of the society as they were trapped by Troggs.

Nige Riftholdl sells the pets, which have to be unlocked by a series of quests or killing rares. When HK and I spoke to Nigel he had 2 pets - Crimson Frog and Wad of Spider Web. Crooked could buy an extra one - Frenzied Cottontail. We found out that was because he had killed the Cottontail Matriarch (rare) so we went off to kill it and unlocked that pet. There was also a Drustvar piglet we could unlock by going to Carvers Harbo(u)r and doing some quests; Smoochum's Bloody Heart is unlocked by doing Abby Lewis' quest chain (she is one of the other kids in the Adventurer's Society).

Anyway, I'll be back later to buy pets! I wonder if I'll be able to get enough pet charms on just one character to do that....
